This alphabetical index has been transcribed from the 3 of the 5 surviving registers and also the Bishop’s Transcripts deposited at the Leicester County Records office.
Register 1710 – 1739. This register covers the incumbency of the Reverend William Vincent. He was inducted in 1713 to the South Mediety aged 27. and died in 1739. The Register is in fair to good condition and well detailed. The majority of the register seems to have been written up by William Vincent himself, the latter part by Henry Haynes curate.
1740 – 1761 entries were found in the Sheepy Magna 1740 – 1812 Register. This covers the incumbency of various Rectors starting with Silvester Vincent the Cousin of William and finishing with Thomas Cotton Fell. The condition is fair to good and the detail is variable but mainly poor.
Register 1761 - 1806 :- This register has considerable damage to the bottom spine quadrant but 90% of all burials have been extracted. This had occurred during use as the Rector , Thomas Cotton Fell, had written around the damage in 1806.(NB most of the missing entries were found in the Bishop's Transcripts).
1807 – 1812 entries were found in the Sheepy Magna 1740 – 1812. These were added by Thomas Cotton Fell at some later stage and appear to be copies of the Bishop's Transcripts.
The final register 1813 – 1969 is the standard “Rose” register and is in good condition and the detail is fair to good.
Difficult pages have been checked against the Bishop’s Transcripts which are in fine condition and cover a good percentage of the registers.
The memorial transcription for All Saints Churchyard Ratcliffe Culey is is some years old and is mainly just names dates and relationships. A new complete transcription is in progress, when this is completed the memorial file will be updated.
