All of my family originate from Sheepy Magna. I've also noticed that several people from my family tree are on your Bolstridge tree. These include James Emery, John Emery and the Tredwell family.

I would not know what the possibility would be of having relatives in Ireland and Ratcliffe Culey. I am not familiar with English and/or Irish tradition.

I think your site if great and contains so much information. Last week I was fortunate to be able to visit the villages and churches of Radcliffe, Witherley, and Sheepy . Would have liked to dig into my Farmer family past but not enough time this trip. Are there any Farmer relatives still around that might help us here in the US connect with our ancestors from 1500-1700's? Let me know please.

Have you ever heard the story behind the beginings of the names Boulstridge, Bulstrode etc? It's quite a nice tale to be told...there is a book about it, with a picture of the first Bull-Strode who looks remarkably like my father... Also have you seen Steve Boulstridge's site? Our side of the family has been based in the pit village of Blackwell, Derbyshire. If you could provide any assistance with his quest he would be very grateful.

Martyn: I agree with your rules about the WFT. I found one where a woman married at age 49 and had 12 children by the time she was 78 years old. Her husband was 101 when child #12 was born. The contributor of this fable used born by about dates that were probably 30 years too soon for the wife & mother and at least 40 years off for the husband & father. It was plain that FTM does not check the content of the pedigree, [fairy tales], that they collect from contributors, copyright the material, and publish for profit. Relatively yours, Richard Leon Herrick, Holt, MI USA List Administrator, Rootsweb HERRICK-L & -D lists. Interim President, Herrick Family Association RLH:mtf:20010812
